Thermo Forming

Thermoforming

Plastic forming is a process which takes place when a sheet of plastic is heated in an oven for enough time to yield (material becomes soft). At that exact instant, the plastic sheet is brought on top of a male or female mold where a high vacuum process is activated.

This process is called thermoforming and it allows the plastic to form around the cavity or the shape on the given mold. Once the forming cycle is completed, four overhead fans expedite the cooling of the formed part. When the plastic solidified (rigid), then this mold gets extracted and the part is formed.

Gauge

This customized double end thermoforming machine can process material as thick as 0.025” to 1” thick plastic.

Length, Width & Depth

Our thermo forming machines are equipped with extra tooling to allow forming depths up to 25” in depth. Our custom modified former will take a sheet of 100” x 105” and form it to any given shape.

Speed

Speed controls costs and the machine cycle controls speeds. We will discuss every product with our customers, so we can give the best service with the best costs.

Materials

We can make it happen with many types as plastic such as abs plastic (any color), ACAP, acrylic, polycarbonate, acrylic, PETG, acrylic, high impact acrylic and polyethylene.

Run Volume

We at AWP welcome prototypes, small, medium and large runs. We will process the product accordingly with customer requests for smaller sizes, and use much smaller machines to keep the costs down and efficiency up.
